The best beaches of Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago is a calm, pacific island, with many barquitas along his coast. His most popular beaches are connected noisily with the lines of buses, which are very cheap, and with the taxis, which are slightly more expensive. Do you want to know any of these beaches?.

We go away to the south-west of the island to meet the crystalline waters and the white sand of Pigeon Point. You will see spending many tourists' ships, which go in the direction of the Buccoo reefs. Pigeon Point is a very calm beach, except when all these cruises happen.

Very close you have the glamorous Store Bay, a beach teeny-weeny, but full of restaurants and positions of local, ideal craft for the buys of last hour. Slightly bigger is the Beach of the Turtle, where you will see the sailors mending his networks, and to the pelicans enjoying the putting sun.

If we do a route towards the northeast of Trinidad and Tobago, the island is full of flat glamorous. Arnos Vale is one of them, better perhaps to dive. Much calmer, almost desert, is Englishman's Bay hidden at the end of a rail surrounded with bambúes. Close to there you have the fishermen's Castara village, with fabulous beaches framed by the nearby forest.
A little further on, and also very calm Parlatuvier is located. From there, a highway winds up to Charlotteville, a bay of postcard, with his transparent waters and some of the best plates of fish of the islands. From here it is worth while climbing a little up to The Pirate Bay, a bay in the shape of half moon, with golden sand and waters of color emerald.

Finally we have to cover the east coast of Trinidad and Tobago. This part of the island is provided with magnificent bays, although they are less tourist because the tides of the Atlantic Ocean are very strong. It is necessary to pay a lot of attention to bathe us in this part, since there are some places in which it is not recommended.

One of these treacherous places, beautiful but where it is necessary to be careful, is a Bay It has hope. Nevertheless, we could have found other places of calmer waters, like for example the Bay of King's Beach and the attractive Speyside, with a view to the island of Goat. This is a big place to dive and to go for a swim, to sunbathe and to eat something in some of his restaurants.

To play the golf in Riviera Maya

In the last years, Riviera Maya has been the paradise of honeymoon of many newlyweds. A big hotels quantity they have been constructed in this area. So that the tourists not only enjoy his beautiful beaches, lately also very good golf courses have been designed for the lovers of this sport.

The Association of Golf courses of the Mexican Caribbean Sea goes promoting from 2004 the golf courses creation for the enjoyment of the tourists. For something Riviera Maya is turning into one of the best places to play the golf in Mexico. In 2010 he tries to go over up to 22 golf courses in whole.

So that you could choose between some of these 22, today we want to offer you the best golf courses of Riviera Maya.

One of them is the golf course of the Chameleon, in Mayan Lie, designed by the brilliant golfer Greg Norman. It is a question of the only field, since it unites in his interior ecosystems as the tropical forest, swamps, straits and channels of limestone. It is the only field of Mexico in which it will be played for third time the PGA Tour.

Other of the big golf courses is Moon Spa and Golf Club, designed by another big ex-player, Jack Nicklaus. Here also the tropical plants abound, and even wild life, with the deer of white tail and many other domestic animals. It is a question of a field with 27 holes, three different options from exit, two restaurants and a snack bar.

The third one of the golf courses that we recommend to you is the Iberostar Beach Paradise Golf Club, one of the first golf courses that were constructed in the area. It is a slightly difficult field, of course, with small pitfalls in his trip. Nevertheless, it has a few spectacular conference, and the possibility of renting teams of golf.
Another good golf course is Hilton Cancún Golf Club, a field of 18 holes, renewed recently, and placed in a beautiful tropical paradise, surrounded with Mayan ruins, the swamps of the Lagoon Nuchupté, and a big variety of tropical plants.

The last one of the golf courses that we recommend to you is that of Beach Woman Golf Club, designed by Greg Norman. It is a question of a field of 18 holes, very difficult of playing due to the strong winds that exist in the area. Without embardo, it has a spectacular design, since he respects the wild life of the island and the flora of his ecosystems. Personally, he is one of the best of the world.

So if you are lover of the golf, and you have thought to spend a few vaciones in Riviera Maya, do not think it to yourselves. You already know where to be able to play with the best conference that you could imagine.

We travel in ship from the capital of Puerto Rico up to Mona's Island, in a trip of approximately 80 kilometers across the sea. As you are approaching the island you will discover a few wonderful cliffs that raise on the waters turquoises.

After coming to the island, they will come to you to greet a group of iguanas. Of the cliffs a brilliant light goes out, since many minerals caves exist. It is quen to be careful at the time of visiting some of the caves, because they are usually full of bats.

These bats are those who, in the legends indigenous to the island, feed on fish, goats and pigs. Other legends tell that these caves are full of treasures. So far many pirates of the Caribbean Sea came in the XVIIIth century, and they were burying his valued booties, with the idea of returning.
In Mona's Island it is possible to camp and to happen the night. We advise you to do it in the Beach of Sardinera, since there the Port government of Rich has had the basic and necessary services, like toilets and showers. If you are going to remain guests, you can do an excursion in ship for the surroundings of the island.

In Beach Sardinera also there is a police center, and a service of the first help, in addition to communication with radio with Puerto Rico. It is the nearest thing to the civilization that you can be, since Isla Mona is one of the most remote islands of the Caribbean Sea.

Therefore, if you want to enjoy the full calmness, and you think about how to get lost in the Caribbean Sea, spend a few holidays in Isla Mona, in full heart of Puerto Rico.

The cemetery of Columbus in Havana

I was walking along Havana, in Cuba, when, in the Square of the Revolution, specifically in the Preserve area, I came across with the Cemetery of Columbus, a mystical place, an authentic city of the dead persons, as he is met here. More than persons' million were buried here, and it is a National Monument from 1987.

Cemetery of Columbus

The Cemetery of Columbus was designed by the Spanish architect Calixto de Loira. It was constructed between 1871 and 1886, and one organizes in symmetry, like the ancient Roman camps. In fact, if you notice well, it is a reflex of the Cuban society, but in stone. It is a city of granite and stone, with angels of marble, small temples, Egyptian pyramids and a mausoleum. Really it is a destination for the curious tourists.

The Cemetery of Columbus was constructed in the beginning to receive the noblemen of Havana. The best architects of Cuba were in charge of designing ostentatious pantheons, chapels, mausoleums and graves. There are areas separated for not Catholics and for those who died as a consequence of serious contagious epidemics.

Here there are buried big personal details, colonial and revolutionary, intellectual aristocrats and artists. Between them, of more acquaintances, Alejo Carpentier, Cuban writer of fame, or Alberto Korda Gutiérrez, who became famous for the famous photo of Ché Guevara. Also there are many graves that are anonymous.

The cemetery also corresponds to the history of the city. The Mausoleum of the Firemen is a monument that he remembers the victims of the shop Isasi, on May 17, 1890. The statue in the top part of the monument is the highest of the whole cemetery. Also there is a monument in homage to the students murdered during the attack to the Presidential Palace of Cambric in 1957.

Nevertheless, the most visited grave of this cemetery is the Grave of the Miraculous one. It is a question of the place of eternal rest of Amelia Goyre of Sickle, who died on May 3, 1901, after giving birth to his son. The child, who also died, was buried in the same coffin to the feet of his mother. The legend counts that, when later the coffin was opened, the child was in the arms of the mother.
The Miraculous one is venerated by the Cuban like not official saint, who protects the children. The women without children come to say him so far in waiting of being able to remain pregnant women. The grave is always adorned by flowers and written notes.

Additional information

The Cemetery of Columbus opens every day from 08.00 until 17.00 hours. In the entry office a map of the enclosure sells at the cost of 1 dollar. Holding a permit visits are offered.

Of buys in Jamaica

Sure that most of you, especially that either you have your trip to Jamaica planned, either you are thinking about the sun, the beaches and the tourism of adventure that you will find in this Caribbean country. But there is much more, for example: do you imagine if we us go shopping for Jamaica?.

you buy Jamaica

It is always necessary to bring some memory of the destinations to which we go, and of Jamaica it could not be less.

In Jamaica you will find many crafts, like necklaces, sizes in wood, wicker baskets … all of them done to hand, and at very reasonable prices, which usually do not overcome 20 dollars. We recommend to you to be careful with some products, which are of import. To make sure that they should be done to hand in the Caribbean island, although they work out for you a little more expensive.

Something typical that you can buy in Jamaica there are his wooden drums, heredity of his African American past and the traditional culture. The prices depend on the size of the drums, and can go from the ten to hundred dollars. You have also that to be very expert in the negotiation.

Jamaica is the country of the culture rastafari, and inside this ambience you will find of everything to buy, from bracelets, to necklaces, hats, T-shirts, pines … The music reagge is also different of the options. Do not remain only with Bob Marley, since there are many local groups. The best thing is to buy in the small places of popular music, which CD's sells.

You cannot forget a rum botellita, or any of the sauces of pepper and other warm sauces, anything very typical of the Caribbean gastronomy. The Jamaican sauces are very good for the fish, the chicken and the pig, and they are mixed by rice and vegetables. Both for the rum and for the sauces it is necessary to bear in mind how to take them in the baggage, especially if we do scale in the United States.

Continuing with the gastronomy, there are many tropical fruits, cakes of fruits and the warm, richest potatoes. You can acquire all these things in the classic street flea markets, which also are usually in the beaches of the island. Of course, in all these flea markets the negotiation is a key piece. Never pay attention of the first price for that they ask you, since, on having been tourists, they will say a considerable quantity to you. It is sure that you will be able to extract what you want to buy at a much more accessible price.

He visits the Volcano Pacaya in Guatemala

The city of Antigua, in Guatemala, is surrounded with volcanoes. Some of them are still in assets, like for example our today protagonist, the Volcano Pacaya. Will you have the value it to come with us to visit?. There that we go away …

Volcano of Pacaya

After a period of stagnation of almost one century, the Volcano Pacaya entered again eruption in 1965. Since then, it has not stopped being in assets, although his eruptions are not too violent. Rather what allows to escape there are flows of viscous lava, red rivers of warm lava that, from time to time, escapes of the air vents of the volcano.

Because the eruptions are not completely a point dangerous, the tourists can keep on visiting the volcano. In fact, it is possible to feel the warm wind that comes from the rivers of lava of the top of his hillside.

To enter the park where the Volcano Pacaya is it is necessary to pay a small entry. Once inside, the best thing is to do a visit guided with a local tourist guide, since the ways and footpaths are not well signposted, and it is easy to take a wrong way. The tourist guides know perfectly where the already dry lava flows are, and which do not recommend to be trodden. To make sure you that the tourist guides are well accredited as such.

To gain access to an interesting area it is necessary to walk some kilometers for the hillside of the volcano. To take you comfortable shoes and water for the way. There is a small shop to the beginning of the footpath, where food can be bought before initiating the route. The guides will continue his way to his rhythm, for what if you cannot follow him, ask him to go slower.
Also it is possible to do the route mounted on horseback. Everything is for extracting some money, they even will sell to you canes to rest during the way. Not to worry you, there can be many for the way.

How to come to the Volcano Pacaya

The best thing is to rent a car in Antigua or in City of Guatemala, and to drive up to the volcano. Nevertheless, the highways are not signposted, and if you do not take with you a good map, you can run the risk of getting lost. Any tourist information office of Antigua can put at your disposal a bus to you up to Pacaya, but you have to reserve with advance.

Do not lose the opportunity to visit the Volcano Pacaya in Guatemala, it will be the only experience.

Ista Taboga is a place to disconnect completely of the worldly ruído. It is an island in which there are no cars, and sometimes, the only sound is that of the breeze and the roar of the waves. You can stay at the Hotel Tropical Path, placed on a hill, surrounded with bougainvillaeas flowers, and with excellently restaurants that it serves fresh seafood and the best conference of the island. The rooms of the hotel have beautiful conference to the sea, and the price is fantastic. The double room ranges between the 65 and 95 dollars in night.
Of course, Isla Taboga has not always been a calm island. In 1515 the Spanish conquerors came, and since then it was attacked also assiduously by the English pirates. Even the marina of the United States used the island com artillery practice during the Second World war. There can still be seen in the Hill of the Cross old godforsaken bunkers of the Second World war. Fortunately, today the island is a peace oasis.

How to come to Isla Taboga

In City of Panama we have to go to the wharf, and from there take a ferry from the wharf Ships Calypso, placed just person next to the Restaurant My Ranchito. We advise you to be in the wharf one hour before the exit of the ferry, especially the weekends, since there are tails to rise to the ship. On Saturdays and Sundays the ferries go out of City of Panama at 08.00, 10.30 and 16.00 hours. The trip going and return is 11 dollars. The trajectory lasts approximately 45 minutes, with wonderful conference to the Canal of Panama.

Camping in Virgin Isles

Are you thinking to travel to the Caribbean Sea, but have you still no budget for it?: what worries you, the price of the hotels?. Nowadays, already this is not any problem. Moreover, here we have the solution. We go away of camping to the Virgin Isles. It can seem too exotic and adventurous, but it is the best idea for that we want to spend a few holidays in the Caribbean Sea with little presupposed.

Cinnamon Bay

To tell truth, the big hotels are a little far from the beaches, and in many of them it is necessary to rent a car or to take a taxi to come. Nevertheless, the campings are much closer, and we will sleep with the sound of Caribbean bottom of the sea. The whole luxury.

For example, Saint John is the smallest of the Virgin Isles, although a national park is two third parts of his territory. To imagine what can be to do camping here. We have two fundamental places, Cinnamon Bay and Maho Bay. Any of these two campings they are sensational, with many serviceability, and very close to the beach. You will not lack for anything any hotel de luxe.

The camping of Cinnamon Bay has both huts and tents opposite to the sea. You can bring to yourselves your own shops, or rent someone in the enclosure. The equipments are perfect, with heating if it is necessary, lanterns, tables of pic nic, coal broilers, ice, and tools to eat and you cook in the huts. Also, there is a shop and a store in the camping to buy everything necessary.

In the outskirts the Restaurant finds Three Lizards, with a few exceptional conference of the beach. You have not left only in spite of lying down to the sun and going for a swim. Here it is possible to practise sail, kayak and enclosed diving.

In Maho Bay we have two small camps, proper Maho Bay and Concord. Also there are huts and tents. The huts are equipped with electrical light, gas heaters, kitchen, domestic appliances … The conference that are had from the huts it is impressive. Here also teams can be rented to dive, to do kayak, to practise sail, etc …
In Concord what exists there are small apartments, if you do not like so much the fact of going of camping. These apartments have also excellent conference, and they are equipped perfectly with everything necessary and essential.

Like véis, you can save yourselves a good money if, instead of going away of hotel, you spend your holidays in some of these campings. What better way of being able to tell him to your friends that estuvistéis of holidays in the Virgin Isles: do not you believe?.

The Volcano Sandbank in Costa Rica

The Volcano Sandbank, in the north of Costa Rica, not only is a center of volcanic activity. Here you will see a wonderful wild life, impressive hotels and thermal spas, in addition to an idyllic natural environment. The night eruptions of the volcano can be seen from the hotel. To what does it sound interesting?.

The Volcano Sandbank finds in the National park Sandbank, hearth of diverse plants of tropical forest and a wide variety of fauna, like birds of brilliant colors, Capuchin monkeys coatíes and others. The volcano does not find very far of the city of the Fortune, five hours to the north of San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica. There are excursions that go out in the morning of the capital, to come to the volcano in the evening and to be able to see in the night the eruptions.

Most of the tourists decide to remain in some of many hotels that surround the volcano, to be able to take pictures from the room. There are cheaper hotels in the city of Fortune. Many from which they come here combine this trip with a visit to Monteverde, the coast of the Pacific Ocean, Tortuguero or Hunchbacked.

The best thermal baths of the area are in Tabacón, a hotel of five stars that many people consider to be the best of the whole Costa Rica. It is possible to go on from thermal swimming pool in thermal swimming pool looking at the volcanic lava that the Sandbank flows of the volcano. Also there is another good thermal bath, Baldi, opened in 2007. His prices are about 25 per cent cheaper than Tabacón, and the number of thermal swimming pools and the conference is the same.
In addition to balenarios thermal, there are very good hotels to lodge you. For example, Sandbank Volcano, which only has eleven rooms surrounding an enormous swimming pool. Of course, it is a little expensive, but it has a few spectacular conference of the volcano. One can remain slept literally seeing the lava of the volcano flowing.

The Observatory Sandbank is an old hotel, with 37 rooms, all of them with a few spectacular conference. Also we have the Sandbank Kioro, a hotel de luxe, with rooms with jacucci, air conditioning, minibar, satellite television, safe and a beautiful swimming pool.

If you do not want to continue contemplating only the Volcano Sandbank, fence there are other attractions, like the cataracts of the Rio Fortune, to six kilometers of the city of Fortune. There are a few impressive falls of water, of more than 70 meters. To go in bicycle or on horseback is the best option to come to the cataracts, although there are some routes in bus. The entry to the cataracts costs 3 dollars.

And finally, we can approach to the Lake Sandbank. It is sure that any tourist operator organizes an excursion to the lake. Precisely, taking a ferry as the lake it is the best way of coming up to Monteverde, since for highway it is approximately eight hours.

Caribbean music

It was big Celia Cruz who made this scream famous in the entire world, Asucaaaá. The happiest, the most dance, the most entertaining is the Caribbean, present music in the whole America, it is the result of the wonderful mergers that arose in Central America and more exactly in the Caribbean Sea, the world center of the sauce.

dancing

The styles and denominations are almost infinite, but it calls us all and makes us move the feet accidentally, it is a passionate, sensual, rapid music and especially happy. “Dancing is to dream of the feet”, as says Sabina. A musical wealth created by the marvel of the crossbreeding and miscellany of cultures and roots that took place in the Caribbean Sea, black, Indian, European races, the whole fantastic crucible for the rhythm that equal mixed the kettledrums with the wind, trumpets with bongós, and kongas with flutes, the whole warm and brave delight.

Let's see the long list of forms of Caribbean music:
Sauce, Meringue, Cha-cha-cha, Rumba, Bootblack, Calypso, Are, Mambo, Bachata, Ska, Dub, Peasant, Dance, Guaguancó, Party, Reggae, Vallenato, Bomb, Plena.

Indisputably the SAUCE is the queen of all, in Spain there is even called he a sauce to everything. His origins there come from Cuba, but who really made be the modern and strong sauce, there were the Puerto Rican ones of New York. The sauce arose from the mergers, the Cuban began changing the Guagancó and the Meringue fusing the Rumba, the enclosed Cha-cha-cha, this miscellany began dreaming and Puerto Rico happened to the neighbor, the musicians Puertorriqueños very skillful they gave him another touch, considering the political situation with the United States since it was an American belonging, New York filled of boricuas, there everybody wanted to be musical and famous. There, in the Big Apple the Sauce arose really. Nowadays moved completely the world nucleus of the Sauce of New York to Saint John of Puerto Rico.

Tito Puente was the first big figure of the Sauce in New York, and Celia Cruz later turned into the queen in his exile of Cuba. The Sauce turned into a boom, arose like a rocket Fania All Stara and many artists who still sound in any holiday or dance that is organized, already like outstanding figures of the sauce like: Rafael Cortijo who retouched several of the Puerto Rican styles with the most famous excellent touch of Jazz, Willie Columbus, Jonny Pacheco, Ray Barreto, Ismael Miranda, Héctor Lavoe, and skylight nowadays: Gilberto Santa Rosa and Marc Anthony Curved the Big one of Puerto Rico, and in women called Celia “the Guarachera of Cuba” for his position The Lupe, The India, Deddie Romero or trina Medina, even Jennifer López or Gloria Stefan. To decide between a cruise with the line Royal Caribbean or a cruise with Carnival can be a challenge. Both lines are perhaps better that they offer cruises for the Caribbean Sea. That's why, we want to give you some tracks so that you could take your final decision.

Royal Caribbean

The prices of the cruises are cheaper and cheaper. The first thing that you have that glance is how big the ship is. Porqué?. Very simple, major all that is the ship, more free time activities will have. A big and new ship can have even an ice rink to skate, or an area to do climb, in addition to a swimming pool. It is sure that both lines are provided with ships of this type, with attractions programmed for the whole day.

Also you have to look at the excursions that every ship and every company offers you once the cruise has come to some port. What would you like to do when you are not sailing in open sea?. For example, if you think about how to spend a day of relaxation in the beach, the best thing is that elijáis a cruise that stops in Cancún. And if what you like is the history, or the art, you have to choose a cruise that covers some interesting city, like Cartagena of the Indies. Also, to be careful with the cruises that offer you big tourist destinations, which of course will be masificados of the people.
If you travel with a slightly exact budget, we would not recommend to do to you the excursions that the companies of the cruises offer on having come to port, since they are usually more expensive. In most of the ports, insurance that there is some tourist information office or travel agency that offers you the same visit at a cheaper price. There is always also the possibility of doing the visit for our own account, with a good guidebook.

Any company of the two that elijáis, insurance that you delitará with his service of rooms, his accommodation and the delightful meal that they have on board, in addition to the personnel in charge of the ship. The trees that surround the bay, together with his slightly deep waters, get together to do of this place one of the most brilliant. Here you can swim and do kayak, a way of enjoying this incredible spectacle.

Some of the best beaches of the Island of Vieques are Flat Hope and Sun Bay. Here it is possible to dive, to do senderismo, to mount in bicycle and to walk on horseback. Also, if you cover the island you have to visit corners like the Theater of Old Nayda, the Faro of Top Mules, and the grave of Him Guillou, the founder of the island.

Stingray; the city of the streaks in the Cayman Islands

To the north of the Cayman Islands there is the city of Stingray, a natural chain of sandbars, which spreads from Morgan's Port up to Rum Point. This natural attraction attracts hundreds of tourists every day, who come to bathe in his slightly deep waters, between inoffensive marine animals, what turns it into one of the most popular excursions of the Caribbean Sea.

Stingray

One of the inoffensive marine animals that more you will see in this area is the common streak. These animals are flat and smooth, with the eyes placed in the top part of his body. They have the mouth in the white belly, perfectly placed to eat the crustaceans and mollusks that pass for below for his, and that form the principal diet of this species.

The Stingray streaks were attracted to this area by the proper local fishermen, that his crafts were anchoring to clean his apprehensions before returning to the coast. This free meal supply, soon began to attract to the shy streaks, which after hearing the sound of the engines of the ships, approach almost up to the same shore. In the decade of 1980, the divers of the area began to feed to the streaks with squid pieces. Like that was born the name of Stingray, which means precisely the city of the streaks.

The streaks are wild species, nevertheless, there are tourists who dare to feed them with squid pieces. I have seen some even planting a kiss on the smooth surface of one of them. In spite of everything, they are usually very friendly and playful. Those of major importance go so far as to reach one meter. The proper local fishermen will teach you some tricks to see that there is no danger.
Anyhow, there are many visits guided to Stingray, which are realized by a prepared guide, who will give us information about how treating to the streaks. You must only caress them from the head up to the tail, because the small spikes that cover his skin might cut you if you do it in the opposite direction. It is sure that the guide will indicate you perfectly how you have to touch them and approach them.

You can reserve these holding a permit visits in George Town, the capital of the Cayman Islands, or in Rum Point. In addition to the visit to the playful streaks, most dared also you have the possibility of doing some diving in many of the coral reefs of the island. Also there are small cruises that go out from the wharf of George Town, and that offer trips up to Stingray or Sandbar.

If you have a planned trip to the Cayman Islands, and you have not been provided with the possibility of visiting Stingray, do not worry. It has gone out frequent, both in the morning and for the evening, from George Town. We advise you better the visit in the evening, since there are less passengers. Anyhow, since the streaks are always hungry, not to worry if you think that you are not going to be able to feed them. To extract a squid piece, and hundreds of them will surround you.

Still today it continues in functioning, and it is a visit forced for the lovers of the history. The way that separates us from the lighthouse occupies a small one flat, sometimes so called Dirty Bay. L ejos of being dirty, this beach has a few impressive conference of the cliffs.

Still astonished of so many beauty, Red End shows us proudly his National Refuge of Vida Silvestre, an ideal destination for the lovers of the nature. One treats walks as a subtropical dry forest, with visits guided to observe the birds, in bicycle and senderismo, and observation stations. It is possible to contemplate a few impressive sceneries, that probably we are not used to seeing.
Those that you look for some peace and calmness, you have to approach up to the Beach of the Anchovy. To sit down in the shade of his palm trees, and to contemplate the calmness of the sea to relax. Some street vendors will not be late in happening with his carts of aperitifs and drinks. Also there are in the walk small shops to buy meal or souvenirs.

To come to Puerto Rico and not to go away of diving also is a tourist crime of the first category. For it, in Red End we have the area of the Combat.
